Summer time activities

Right now that Queeny has celebrated her jubilee and team GB have done us proud I am back and ready to roll. So whats been going on my end. Well the discovery of pinterest has come into my life and since the purchase of my marvelous Ipad I am never not pinning!! I have gained so much inspiration from this site, it's great for planning projects and sourcing images.

So apart from pinning I have been sewing some lovely things. I took a dress making and millinery workshop with my mum creating 50's style tea dresses and hats to match. It was excellent, I have found my calling which is infact circle skirts... dead easy really simple to make and look amazing. I have a new found love for materials and my mums singer!!! Here's some pics...

The pattern was tailor made by making a cling film wrap from your body and making a paper pattern from the panels. The last picture here is of the finished dresses, I'm in front wearing my dress and hat. My mum is the third one in. We found our fabric from an Ebay shop called Fancy Moon, they sell amazing fabrics with really quirky patterns, great for the vintage/new look.
